Morris sprints to victory
Denver runners place in top two
 
Pocatello, Idaho- Joseph Morris, a senior from Denver, Colo., and running for the Colorado Flyers, won this year’s Simplot Games 60 meters with a time of 6.76. Morris’ first place finish is a much welcomed improvement from last year’s third place finish at Simplot Games.
 
Finishing in second place was senior A.J. Whitaker with a time of 6.88. Whitaker is also from Denver, Colorado and runs with D.A.T.A.C.
 
More than 2,000 athletes come from across the U.S. and Canada to participate in the 30th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company since 1979, the 2008 Simplot Games were held February 14-16; at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena is Pocatello, Idaho.
