Hancock sets new meet record at 2008 Simplot Games
Pocatello,
Idaho- Michael Hancock, a senior, from Denver, Colo.,
blazed in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.78, setting a new Simplot Games
meet record. This time also ties the #2 time this year.
“I am like a lion, I am an animal out on the track,” says Hancock after
his win over favorite Andre’ McDonald.
McDonald, a senior from Kansas
City, Mo., finished
second with a time of 7.90 seconds. This is the 5th fastest time this
year.
2,000 athletes come from across the U.S. and Canada to participate in the
30th annual Simplot Games. Simplot Games remains the nation’s premier
high school indoor track and field event. Sponsored by the J.R. Simplot Company
since 1979, the Simplot Games were held February 14-16; at Idaho State
University’s Holt Arena is Pocatello, Idaho.
